College & Museum Visits

Each day you are on site you will visit 1or 2 of Cambridge’s colleges or museums. The Colleges differ in size, location and architectural style, some older and some more modern. The Museums offer an excellent opportunity to explore resources available to Cambridge researchers, such as Fitzwilliam Museum for the Arts, Whipple Museum for History of Sciences, etc.

Industry Experience

The Greater Cambridge area is a vast ecosystem of collaboration in the science and technology industries. An afternoon of Industry Experience aims to give you a taste of the scale of this ecosystem and the significance of some of these collaborations in leading the world’s innovations. This could be an inspirational opportunity for you to consider how you might extend the knowledge and skills you will gain from the STEM & Leadership Programme for your future pursuits.

Daily Activities

As well as punting on the Cam, get to know your fellow summer school students better by playing football or croquet, go on a scavenger hunt, or spend the evening playing some quiz games in teams. Your mentors organise activities to involve everyone, and you are encouraged to contribute ideas for fun things to do too.

Team Building Adventure

“Fun, unforgettable memories, challenging, took me out of my comfort zone…” this is what students say about our team-building adventure day. Build a raft with your team and race with other teams. Which team will stay dry? Challenge yourself on ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ and see how high your team can climb.

University Visits

A day trip to other universities including: Imperial College London, University College London and King’s College London, enable you to discover the different universities the UK has to offer. You will attend admissions talks delivered by university officers on applying for post-graduate studies. Student ambassadors with first-hand knowledge will give guided tours and answer your questions about student life.

Oxford Day Trip

Your trip to Cambridge would not be complete without a visit to the equally amazing City of Oxford. You will visit the University of Oxford and some of its associate colleges and museums. Explore the City of Oxford with your friends and discover some of its fascinating history together.
